Stand van Zaken. / Current Situation.

Tijdens de eerste dag dat ik de bak probeerde te vullen, werd ik door een onverwacht probleem geconfronteerd.  Al mijn stenen bleken te drijven.  En, tijdens het leegtrekken werd ik op een ander probleem gewezen.  De haspel is te lang om met mijn 1300-l/u-pomp het water vlot te kunnen verversen.

Ik sprak af met Erik om de problemen op te lossen.  De bodemplaten zijn gedeeltelijk met siliconen behandeld en alles is door pebbles verzwaard.  Dit is een tijdelijke oplossing tot het substraatzand (zo'n 70 kilo) in de plaats komt.  Voor de rest hebben we besloten een fonteinpomp te gebruiken, in de hoop dat deze soelaas brengt.  Is dat niet het geval, dan zoeken we een vijverpomp.


During the first day that I tried to fill the tank with water, an unexpected problem revealed itself.  All of my rocks were floating.  And, while I emptied the aquarium, another problem showed itself.  The tube on my reel is too long to change the water in my aquarium easily.

So, I agreed with Erik to come and solve these problems.  In the meantime, the baseplates are glued to the aquarium with silicones en everything is made heavier by the use of pebbles.  This is a temporary sollution until sand (about 70 kilos) is added in the tank.  For the rest, we've decided to use a pomp for a small fountain.  We have hope that it will solve the matter.  If not, we'll take a pomp for small ponds.

Tijdelijk heb ik een 2000-l/u-pomp steken.  Ik ga de aquarium zeer langzaam opstarten.  Een eerste probleem is dat we een reactie hebben van het één of het ander op het één of ander. / Temporary, I have a 2000-l/h-pomp in my aquarium.  I'll start up this tank very slowly.  A first problem we have is that there's a reaction of something with something.

De rots die op deze foto wit uitslaat, is niet fit.  Er is hier geen sprake van water dat onder de epoxy zit.  Daarstraks heeft Eric erover gekrabd en het witte spul zit dus wel degelijk aan de buitenkant.  Daarmee is nog niet verklaard wat dit is.  Ons eerste objectief is hiervan af te raken. / The rock that looks white on this picture, isn't leaky.  There isn't any water underneath the epoxy of anything like that.  Earlier, Erik scratched the surface and the white stuff is on the outside of the rock.  However, this doesn't explain what it is.  Getting rid of it, seems to be our first problem (or else, making sure that it doesn't spread).
