Understanding the Syrian conflict and ISIS.

Hieronder ziet u een gesprek met een Amerikaans lid van het Institute for Policy Studies, Phyllis Bennis, die u het hele Syrische conflict uitlegt en de rol van ISIS daarin.  Het Syrische conflict speelt zich immers af op verschillende niveaus.  Je hebt ten eerste de burgeroorlog tussen de verschillende rebellen en Assad.  Je hebt de regionale oorlog tussen Saoedie-Arabie en Iran, m.a.w. tussen de Soennieten en de Sjiiten.  En je hebt de internationale oorlog tussen Rusland, voor wie Syrie altijd een bondgenoot geweest is, en de Amerikanen die de regering van elke bondgenoot van Rusland in het midden-oosten ten val willen brengen.  Met andere woorden, het is ook die internationale oorlog die Frankrijk steunt door ISIS te bombarderen, wat op zich leidde tot de terroristische aanslagen op Parijs van 13/11/2015.  We kunnen ons de vraag stellen in hoeverre Europa zich geroepen voelt om het leven van zijn burgers in gevaar te brengen door te participeren in deze zinloze, internationale oorlog van Amerika.  Is de onrealistische droom van de USA om de wereld te controleren en om die om te vormen volgens zijn eigen beeld één leven van een Europeaan waard?  Volgens mij niet.

Below stands a conversation with an American fellow of the Institute for Policy Studies, Phyllis Bennis, who explains the history of the Syrian conflict and the part of ISIS in it.  After all, the Syrian conflict takes place on different levels.  Firstly, you have a civil war between different rebel factions and Assad.  Secondly, you have the regional war between Iran and Saudi-Arabia, otherwise said, between Sunnis and Shiites.  And, you have the international war between Russia, for whom Syria has always been a allie, and the USA who want to destroy the regimes of every Russian allie in the Middle-East (Iraq, Syria, Iran).  It is the international war that France supports by bombing ISIS, a fact that led directly to the terrorist attacks on Paris of 13/11/2015.  We can ask ourselves to which degree Europe feels called to endanger the life of its citizens by participating in this pointless, international war of the USA.  Is the unrealistic dream of the USA to controle and reshape the whole world in its own image worth any European life?  According to me, it isn't.

Update Aquarium.

Dit is een lang verwachte update over m'n aquarium.  Wat is er in tussentijd gebeurd?  Het koppeltje Heros notatus bleek geen koppeltje te zijn.  Het waren 2 mannetjes die tegen elkaar begonnen te vechten.  Hiertegen moest er ingegrepen worden dus bracht ik 1 Heros notatus terug naar de winkel.  In plaats daarvan heb ik een schooltje Melanotaenia boesemani gekocht om wat meer kleur en beweging in de bak te krijgen.  Deze visjes zijn zo'n 5 cm lang maar ze worden zo'n 12 cm.  Daarnaast is de rechterhoek veranderd omdat de Valisneria gigantea niet pakte.  Ook heb ik de belichting veranderd in 2 LCD-spots.

This is an update of my aquarium, which is long overdue.  What happened in the meantime?  The couple of Heros notatus prooved to be not a couple.  In stead, they were two mails that started to fight each other.  I needed to intervene in this situation, so I took one Heros notatus back to the shop.  I've bought a school of Melanotaenia boesemani to replace the Heros notatus, in order to get a bit more colour and movement in the tank.  These fish are now 5 cm long, but they'll become 12 cm.  Besides, I've changed the right corner of the tank because the Valisneria gigantea didn't grow as expected.  I've changed also the lights above the aquarium into 2 LCD-spots.

The Iraq war: yet another American failure.

De USA houdt al sinds de jaren '80 de éne na de andere militaire interventie in het midden oosten.  Deze interventies hebben nog nooit iets opgelost.  Ook niet de oorlog in Iraq.  Hieronder ziet u een lezing van Andrew Bacevich - professor in geschiedenis en internationale betrekkingen aan de universiteit van Bosten, afgestudeerd aan de West Point Academy en met een militaire ervaring van 23 jaar waarin hij tot kolonel werd benoemd - waarin hij dit laatste ook ruiterlijk toegeeft.  Europa zou beter moeten weten dan Amerika te volgen in zijn zinloze militaire avonturen in het midden oosten, maar gezien het Franse voorbeeld doet het dat niet, daarmee de rode loper uitrollend voor elke ISIS-terrorist.

Since the 80's the USA intervenes militarily time after time again in the middle-east.  None of these interventions ever solved anything.  That's also true for the war in Iraq.  Below you see a lecture from Andrew Bacevich - professor in history and international relations at the university of Boston, a graduate from the West Point Academy and with an experiewnce of 23 years in the military, where he became a colonel - in which he admits to this fact.  Europe should know better than to follow the USA in its pointless and useless military adventures in the middle-east, but in view of the French example towards this matter, it does not.  The result of this stupidity is sending an open invitation to all kinds of ISIS-terrorists to come and commit terrorist attacks on French soil.

In het onderstaande fragment ziet u de ex-generaal Wesley Clark (ex-bevelhebber van de NAVO), die het heeft over het originele plan van G.Bush, Rumsfeld, Cheney en Wolfowitz n.a.v. de terroristische aanslag van 9/11/2001 op de WTC-torens in New York.  Onmiddellijk wordt duidelijk dat zij helemaal niet geinteresseerd waren in het verslaan van Al Quada of Osama Bin Laden, maar dat zij van plan waren om de aanslagen te misbruiken on alle bondgenoten van de vroegere Soviet-Unie (nu Rusland) binnen te vallen en op te ruimen.  De rest van de lezing van Wesley Clark valt te zien op Fora.tv.

In the fragment below you see the former general Wesley Clark (former commander of NATO), who talks about the original plan of G.Bush, Rumsfeld, Cheney and Wolfowitz in regard of the terrorist attack of 9/11/2001 on the WTC-towers in New York.  Immediatly, it becomes very clear that they weren't interested in the destruction of Al Quada or Osama Bin Laden, but that they intended to use the attacks as a pretext to invade all the allies of the former Soviet-Union (now Russia).  You can see the rest of the lecture of Wesley Clark on Fora.tv.
