Ik ben deze zomer naar Leuven geweest om daar een tochtje te maken.  Leuven is de vierde grootste Vlaamse stad, is de thuis voor één van de oudste universiteiten en Europa en telt 95.000 inwoners (ter vergelijking : Lier kent 35.000 inwoners).  Dat heeft als voordeel dat men in Leuven al modern ogende gebouwen heeft staan.  In Lier zijn er zo goed als geen.

This summer, I've been to Leuven, in order to make a walk there.  Leuven is the fourth largest Flemish town, is the home of one of the oldest universities of Europe and has about 95.000 inhabitants (as a comparison: Lier has only 35.000 inhabitants).  This has the advantage that Leuven already has contemporary buildings.  In Lier, there are as good as none.

Leuven ligt langs het Dijlekanaal. / Leuven is located alongside the Dijle-channel.

Ik rijd naar Herent. / I drive to Herent.

Ik rijd terug naar Leuven. / I drive back to Leuven.

Ik vertrek terug naar Lier. / I go to Lier again.

Omdat ik in een rolstoel zit, kan ik niet in het gedeelte waar stoelen staan.  Maar, ik kan er wel een foto van trekken. / Because of my wheelchair, I can't enter the area where seats are stabnding.  However, I can take a picture of it.

Deze zomer reed ik op een dag langs de Bartstraat naar Berlaar vanwaar ik de dijk langs de Nete zou volgen, terug naar Lier.  Ik had een slechte dag gekozen want het was zo bewolkt dat de zon er bijna niet doorheen kon.  Maar, op de terugweg naar Lier, leverde het me wel deze spectaculaire beelden op.

This summer I drove on a day via the Bartstraat to Berlaar.  Once in Berlaar, I would take the dyke alongside the Nete, back to Lier.  I had picked a bad day because it was so clouded that the sun almost couldn't break through the clouds.  But, on the way back to Lier, it delivered me with these spectular pictures.

Omdat ik tijdelijk de tijd niet vind om Hdr's te maken, presenteer ik vandaag iets anders.  De beste foto's van 2012 heb ik verzameld in vier files: Luchten, Landschappen, Huizen en Slecht Weer.  Dit is het vierde deel van de eerste file: Luchten.  Dit zijn foto's van wolken en zonnestralen.
